Privacy policy
We collect as little as we can. No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels on the website, no selling data.
Who are we?
AutomatedByFriday (automatedbyfriday.com) is an independent UK publication and the data controller for personal data collected through this website and newsletter. Contact us about privacy at [email protected].
What do we collect, and why?
| Data | Why | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your email address (and anything you choose to tell us) when you join the newsletter | To send the newsletter you asked for | Consent | Until you unsubscribe, then deleted or suppressed so we don’t email you again |
| Emails you send us | To reply | Legitimate interests | Up to 2 years |
| Anonymous website statistics (pages viewed, referrer, country, device type) | To see which guides help people | Legitimate interests | Aggregated; no individual profiles |
| Server logs (IP address, browser) kept by our host | Security and keeping the site running | Legitimate interests | Per Cloudflare’s retention, typically short-term |
Do you use cookies?
The website doesn’t set advertising or tracking cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare describes as privacy-first and which doesn’t use cookies or fingerprinting to track individual visitors. Because of that, we don’t show a cookie banner. If that ever changes, we’ll ask for consent first.
Who do you share data with?
- Cloudflare hosts the website and provides analytics.
- beehiiv (once our newsletter launches) stores subscriber emails and sends the newsletter.
These are processors acting on our instructions. Some are based in, or use servers in, the United States. Where data leaves the UK, we rely on the safeguards UK law allows, such as the UK–US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. We never sell your data.
Affiliate links
When you click a tool link and land on another company’s site, that company may set its own cookies to record that you came from us. Their privacy policy applies there. See our affiliate disclosure.
What are your rights?
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent at any time (every newsletter has an unsubscribe link). Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within one month. If you’re unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes
We’ll update this page if anything changes and change the date at the top.
